We want https://www.plantationhousehotel.co.uk to be accessible to as many people as possible. The site has been designed and built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA — the current UK benchmark for web accessibility.
What this means in practice
- Strong colour contrast between text and background.
- A clearly visible focus ring as you keyboard around the site.
- Semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) with a "skip to content" link.
- Meaningful text alternatives for all non-decorative images.
- Readable body text from approximately 17 pixels upwards, scaling fluidly.
- Forms with programmatically associated labels and error messages.
Known limitations
We test the site on modern evergreen browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and a current-generation screen reader (VoiceOver on macOS and iOS). If you use an older browser, some visual features may render differently but the content will remain accessible.
Third-party embeds — map tiles and any booking widget — are the responsibility of those providers. If one of them presents a barrier to you, please let us know and we'll help directly by phone or email.
At the hotel
The house is a Grade-II-listed Georgian rectory, which places certain structural limits on wheelchair access. We have rooms on the ground floor and will happily discuss any access needs you have before booking — please phone us on +44 (0)1548 831100 so we can make sure we can look after you properly.
Report a barrier
If you encounter anything on this site that makes it harder for you to use, please email info@plantationhousehotel.co.uk with a short description and — if you can — the page address. We take accessibility feedback seriously and reply within two working days.
